Geraldine White

Mrs. Geraldine “Jeree” White, 68, of Salamanca, NY died suddenly Thursday, November 11, 2021 at home.

Born April 1, 1953 in Gowanda, NY, she was the daughter of the late Loran and Grace Abramowski Smith. She was married on August 2, 1981 in Perrysburg, NY to Mr. Don “Flip” White, who survives.

She was a graduate of Trocaire College, Buffalo, NY, earning her bachelor's degree in nursing.

Jeree had been employed with the former Genesee Hospital in Rochester, NY for over 20 years, working as an ICU nurse, where she was awarded the first Nurse’s Excellence Award.

She attended Our Lady of Peace Parish in Salamanca, NY. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and will be remembered for her excellent cooking and her green thumb. She enjoyed travelling with her husband and being a “compassionate caregiver”, helping anyone in need.

Surviving besides her husband are: three daughters, Aimee (Brian) Carpenter, Rochester, NY, Dani Golisano, Springville, NY, Sara White, Salamanca, NY; two sons, Noel Stafford, Netherlands, Joshua (Devin Kowalske) White, Springville, NY; ten grandchildren; a sister, Anne (Eric) Driscoll, East Rochester, NY; two brothers, Jimi (Karen) Smith, Gowanda, NY, Kenny (Kelly) Smith, Dunkirk, NY; several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
