Gertrude “Trudee” H. Skudlarek, 94, of South Nine Mile Road, Allegany, formerly of Liberty Street, Salamanca, New York died Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Olean, New York.
Born January 25, 1921 in Salamanca, New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Rojek Woodarek.
She had been employed as a sales associate for F.W. Woolworth’s in Passaic, New Jersey and worked at the former Sheble & Wood Woolen Mills in Salamanca.
She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and the Holy Cross Rosary Society. She enjoyed photography and her first priority was being with her family.
Surviving are: two daughters, Dolores (Bill) Coon, Allegany, NY, Gloria Hall, Melbourne, FL; three sons, Randy Skudlarek, Great Valley, NY, Rick Skudlarek, Salamanca, NY, Nick (Carol) Skudlarek, Olean, NY; four grandchildren, Tom Skudlarek, Olean, NY, Kate Skudlarek, Olean, NY, Jason (Melissa) Coon, Land O’ Lakes, FL, Molly Coon, Allegany, NY; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Coon, Land O’ Lakes, FL; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Larry Skudlarek, three sisters, Veronica Ronzo, Dorothy Suchora, Margaret Woodarek, and three brothers, Carl Woodarek, Raymond Woodarek, and Edward Woodwarek.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial mass will be held in Our Lady of Peace Parish on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Patrick Melfi, pastor, as celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
