Grace Nolan

Mrs. Grace Nolan, 91, of Salamanca, New York died early Friday morning, January 20, 2017 at home.

Born February 16, 1925 in Arranmore Island, County Donegal, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Bridget Gallagher O’Donnell. She was married on June 21, 1952 in the former St. Patrick’s Church to John F. Nolan, who predeceased her on November 10, 2001.

Mrs. Nolan had been employed as a housekeeper for the former St. Patrick’s Church in Salamanca.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and enjoyed cooking and reading.

Surviving are: four daughters, Bridget (William) Bzdak, New Columbia, PA, Elizabeth Young, Salamanca, NY, Mary Essary, Glendale, AZ, Teresa (Rick) Guglielmo, Williamsport, PA; four sons, John (Penny) Nolan, Valdosta, GA, Charles (Sherry) Nolan, Russell, PA, Michael (Pam) Nolan, Clarendon, PA, Daniel Nolan, Phoenix, AZ; 24 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nelly Rodgers, Arranmore Island, County Donegal, Ireland; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Kevin Nolan and a brother, Patrick O’Donnell.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River St, Salamanca, NY on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 3 – 6 p.m.

A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Peace Parish on Monday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Patrick Melfi, former pastor, as celebrant.

Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
