Harry F. Magiera

Harry F. Magiera, 83, of Salamanca, NY, died Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, NY following a long illness.

Born September 3, 1941 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Harry and Stella Magiera. He was married on August 22, 1970 at the former Kissinger United Methodist Church in Salamanca to the former Dixie Simons, who survives.

He was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1959.

Harry had been employed as the auto parts service manager of the former Salamanca Ford Motors for over 35 years, the former O’Laughlin Cadillac Pontiac, and the former Casey Cole Chevrolet in Bradford, PA. After his automotive career, he worked at the Seneca Allegany Casino. He will be remembered as “Mr. Customer Service” wherever he worked, always taking care of the customer first.

He was a former member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and the Holy Cross Athletic Club. He enjoyed NASCAR and attended the Indy 500 for many years, also following local racing at Holland Raceway. He was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

Surviving besides his wife are: a daughter, Rhonda (David Farr) Fuller, Bolivar, NY; a brother, Dan (Sandy) Magiera, Salamanca, NY; a grandson, Ernest Robinson, Bolivar, NY; six great-grandchildren, Johnathan Chase, Gauge Robinson, both of Friendship, NY, Garrett Chase, Olean, NY, Wyatt Robinson, NC, Emma Robinson, Ashlyn Robinson, both of Salamanca, NY; two great-great grandchildren, Amarah and Arlo, Allegany County; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Angela Magiera, and a grandson, Karl Robinson.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, 95 Franklin Street, Buffalo, NY 14202.
