Helen Kissel
Helen Kissel, 83, of Maples Road, Ellicottville, New York died Wednesday morning, August 27, 2008 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York.
Born on September 9, 1924 in Salamanca, New York she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Prebynski Malanowski. She was married in Holy Cross Church on September 21, 1947 to Mr. Edward Kissel who survives.
She was employed at the former Sheble & Wood Woolen Mills, Salamanca Central School and the former Salamanca District Hospital.
Mrs. Kissel was a member our Our Lady Peace Parish (Holy Cross Church), the Holy Cross Rosary Society, a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296.
Surviving are: a son, Casper "Larry" (Molly) Kissel, Lewis Run, P.A.; a daughter, Marlene (Rod) Sergel, Ellicottville, New York; a sister, Frances Snopkowski, Cape Coral, Fl, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 14 brothers and sisters.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Peace Parish (Holy Cross Church) with Rev. Piotr Zaczynski, pastor, as celebrant.
Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Great Valley, New York.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
