Helen Moore

Mrs. Helen L. Moore, 87, formally of Salamanca, died Saturday morning October 15, 2016 at the Pines Health and Rehab, Olean NY following a short illness.

Born October 19, 1928 in Salamanca, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rhoda Bundy Meek. She was married on October 14, 1950 to Mr. Minter Moore, who predeceased her November 20, 1975.

She had been employed as a CNA at the former Salamanca Nursing Home.

She was a former member of the Free Methodist Church in Salamanca, the Richburg Fireman’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and riding on the back of her son’s motorcycle.

Surviving are: 6 children; Ann (Jon) Jacek, Lawrenceburg, KY; Linda (Jerry Sr.) Lyman, Richburg, NY; Donald Moore, Ellington, NY; Thomas (Diane) Moore, Richburg, NY; Jean (Doug) Bliven, Portville, NY; Kenneth (Cyndy) Moore, Richburg, NY; grandchildren; Jerry (Cyndy) Lyman Jr. and son, Mooresville, NC; Jamie (Warren) Brimmer and children, Harrison Valley, PA; Jessica (Kurt) Williamson and children, Greenwood, KY; Damon Jacek and son, Versailles, KY; Darin (fiance Holly Rogers) Jacek, Benton, AR; Ryan (Becky) Moore and children, Richburg, NY; Rayna (Jason) Ayers, Richburg, NY; stepgrandchildren; Michele Chambers and children, South Haven, MS; Chris Stives and children, South Haven, MS; Karrie (Dan) Crawford and children, Little Genesse, NY; Krista (Mark) Brunck and children, Hinsdale, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three sisters; Alta Fox, Elma Meek, and Evelyn Sluga; 4 half brothers; Russel Rowland, Floyd Rowland, Charlie Rowland, and Hershel Meek; 3 half sisters; Leona Porter, Onalee Rice, and Lillian Dowicz.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Funeral Home Inc. 25 River St. Salamanca, NY on Tuesday from 4-7pm and Wednesday at the Free Methodist Church, 387 Center Street Salamanca, NY from 10-11am, when funeral services will be held with Mrs. Moore’s son, Donald Moore of the Ellington Baptist Church, Ellington, NY officiating.

Burial will be in Steamburg Cemetery Steamburg, NY.
