Helen Ukolowicz

Mrs. Helen A. Ukolowicz, 99, of Limestone, NY, formerly of Salamanca, NY, died Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home, Bradford, PA.

Born October 25, 1921 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Penczek Ligus. She was married to Mr. Frank Ukolowicz, who predeceased her in 1992.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish

Helen was a kind soul who liked gardening, flowers and bird watching. She was a sports fan and followed the Bills, the Sabers, and the Yankees. Most of all she loved her family and the endless visitors who came to see her and wish her well.

Helen and her husband Frank owned and worked the Limestone Grill, Limestone NY during the 60’s and 70’s.

Surviving are: two daughters, Sandra Ukolowicz, Limestone, NY, Helka Freeland, Doylestown, PA; two sons, Thomas (Renee) Ukolowicz, Thousand Oaks, CA, Edward (Debra) Ukolowicz, Mt. Dora, FL; four grandchildren, Dana Ukolowicz, Cattaraugus NY, Kara Ukolowicz, Sherman Oaks, CA, Amanda Ruffino, Kintnersville PA, Nicole Brown, Summit Point, WV; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Sophia, Liliana, Harlan, and Ava; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Stanley Ligus and her sister, Stella Nowobilski.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 2- 4 and 7 – 9pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Peace Parish, 274 Broad Street, Salamanca, NY on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Mariusz Siehart, pastor, as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
