Helena M. Pennell

Helena M. Pennell, 74, of Kill Buck NY, died Sunday, May 31, 2026 at the Pines Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Olean, NY.

Born June 15, 1951 in Olean, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy Canfield Marinari. She was married on October 3, 1970 in the former St. Patrick’s Church to Terry Pennell, who survives.

She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1969.

Helena had been employed as a clerk with several area Post Offices, retiring from the office in St. Bonaventure, NY.

She was a member of the Salamanca Quilting Group, the Salamanca Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and former of Our Lady of Peace Parish.

Surviving besides her husband are: two sons, Bradley (Nichole) Pennell, Great Valley, NY, Mark (Kimberly Scott) Pennell, Indian Trail, NC; two granddaughters, Molly (Randall Jr.) Wolbert, Lauren Pennell, both of Salamanca, NY; two grandsons, Dominic Pennell, Indian Trail, NC, Ethan Pennell, Great Valley, NY; a great-granddaughter, Piper Wolbert, Salamanca, NY; three sisters, Lynette (Michael) Koscielski, Hamburg, NY, Brenda (Gregory) Ballachino, Springville, NY, Patty (Robert) Stables, Weyburn, SK, Canada; a brother, Thomas (Margie) Marinari, Macedon, NY; several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.

A Memorial Service will be held at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River St, Salamanca, NY on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 11am with Pastor Robert D. Howard officiating.
