Henry Lloyd Jacobs
Mr. Henry Lloyd Jacobs, 61, of 39 Lincoln Avenue, Salamanca, New York died Thursday (March 20, 2008) at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Buffalo, New York
Born October 29, 1946 in Salamanca, New York, he was the son of the late Aaron and Dora Jones Jacobs. He was married to the former Louise Sue Journey who predeceased him in 2002.
Mr. Jacobs was a veteran of the United States Army serving with the 11th Armored Calvary "Black Horse" division in the Vietnam Conflict. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Purple Heart and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was employed with the United States Postal Service in Louisville, Kentucky prior to his retirement.
Mr. Jacobs was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, and the Hawk Clan.
Surviving are four sons; William (Sherri) Jacobs, Hobesound, FL, Aaron (Lisa) Jacobs, Salamanca, New York, John Jacobs, Salamanca, New York, Isaiah Jacobs, Salamanca, New York; one daughter Dora (Stacy) Maybee, Salamanca, New York, nine grandchildren, one brother Albert "skee" (Kathy) Jacobs, Las Vegas, Nevada, one sister, Audrey (Frank) Ray, Salamanca, New York, several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Monday (March 24, 2008) from 11:30 AM till 1:00 PM when funeral services will be held with pastor Kevin John officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, New York
Full Military Honors will be performed by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post # 5296.
