Holly VanHorn

Mrs. Holly A. VanHorn, 53, of East Bucktooth Run, Little Valley, died Thursday afternoon, August 30, 2018 at Gates Vascular Institute, Buffalo, NY following a short illness.

Born December 25, 1964, she was the daughter of Beverly Johnson Kahm and the late Glenn Kahm. She was married in May 2005 at the United Congregational Methodist Church, Salamanca, NY to George VanHorn, who survives.

Holly was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1984.

She had been employed at SubCon in Salamanca for several years.

She enjoyed drawing, walking, and socializing with people. She liked going to tractor pulls and seeing her favorite John Deere tractors. She loved her pet rabbits. She loved Mickey Mouse and was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabers, and NY Yankees. She was also a NASCAR fan and her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt.

She was a member of the United Congregational Methodist Church.

Surviving besides her husband and mother are: two step-children, Mark (Amber) Shields, East Randolph, NY, Daniel Shields, Sawmill Run; a sister, Terry (Jack) Kerswill, Salamanca, NY; two brothers, Mark (Geneva) Kahm, McHenry, MS, David (Kasey) Kahm, Knoxville, TN; a special friend, Paula Baker, Salamanca, NY.

She was predeceased by a nephew, Michael Mohr.

Memorial visitation will be held at the United Congregational Methodist Church, 134 Broad Street, Salamanca, NY on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 1 – 2 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Michael Trenchard and Rev. Buck Hall officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

Burial will be in Napoli Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the United Congregational Methodist Church, 134 Broad Street, Salamanca, NY.
