Irene Jusko
Mrs. Irene F. Jusko, age 93, of Wellsville, NY, formerly of Wilson Street, Salamanca, NY died Sunday morning, October 30, 2011 at the home of her daughter.
Born on February 24, 1918 in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Wojtusak Molenda. She was married on July 4, 1938 in Olean, NY to Mr. Stanley Jusko who predeceased her in 2003.
Mrs. Jusko was a hard working, sophisticated, yet loving homemaker as well as dedicating years spent managing the Holy Cross Athletic Club Kitchen. She will always be remembered for amazing cooking skill, especially her famous salad bar at Jolly Dee's Restaurant in Wellsville, NY.
She was a member of the former Holy Cross Church, it's Rosary Society, the Holy Cross Athletic Club's Ladies Auxiliary where she served as past president, and Star of Liberty Lodge. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had enjoyed traveling with her husband with one of their most memorable trips seeing the Vatican in Rome.
Surviving are: 3 daughters, Theresa Ambuski, Canisteo, NY, Delores Holland, Wellsville, NY, Sylvia Jusko, Scottsville, NY; a son, Thomas (Frances) Jusko, Arcade, NY; 7 grandchildren, Lynette (Andy) Murphy, Canisteo, NY, Denise Ambuski, Painted Post, NY, Pete (Deborah) Ambuski, Canisteo, NY, Ann Marie (Howard) Rathbun, Shinglehouse, PA, Michelle (Steve) Long, Berwin, PA, Daniel (Laura) Jusko, Collegeville, PA, Jody Jusko (Bobbi), Salamanca, NY; 9 great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Molenda, Depew, NY; several nieces and nephews. along with loving caregivers, Cheryl Bastian, Bobbi Gibble, and her daughter and granddaughter, Delores and Jody.
She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Kryniski, 3 brothers, Harry Molenda, John Molenda, Raymond Molenda, 2 son-in-laws, Ronald Ambuski, and Clifford Holland.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc., Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Tuesday from 2-6 P.M.
A prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday morning at 10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in Our Lady of Peace Parish with Rev. Patrick Melfi, pastor, as celebrant.
Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hospice of Allegany County.
