Irene T. Speronie

Irene T. Speronie, 93, a lifelong resident of Salamanca, NY, died Monday, March 25, 2024 at Olean General Hospital.

Born November 19, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Eugenio and Louisa Poggioli Speronie.

Irene graduated from Salamanca High School and Bryant Stratton Business School, Buffalo NY.

She was a long-time member of the former St. Patrick's Church, now Our Lady of Peace. She was also a long-term member of Elkdale Country Club.

Irene was employed with Dresser Manufacturing Division, Bradford, PA, for 37 years as Executive Secretary to the President.

She enjoyed playing golf, skiing, traveling, and flower gardening. More recently, she also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by several nephews, a niece, and their children.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Peter J. and George J. Speronie, her sisters, Angelina Speronie, Fanny (Pat) Stamato, Frances (John) Evers, Mary (Chester) Dolecki, and a niece, Valerie Evers.

There will be no public visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Our Lady of Peace Parish, 274 Broad Street, Salamanca, NY on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dennis Mancuso as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
