Isabelle Prebis

Isabelle H. Prebis, 91, of Salamanca, NY died early Sunday morning, March 5, 2017 at the Olean General Hospital.

Born April 15, 1925 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Julia Roszyk Boza. She was married on January 2, 1947 to Anthony J. Prebis, who predeceased her on November 6, 1992.

Mrs. Prebis had been employed at the Puritan Restaurant, the Tannery in Salamanca, Woolworth’s, and she sold Avon Products.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, where she counted the collection money. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, helped with the Salamanca High School Alumni Association, donated many items to the Salamanca Historical Society, enjoyed bowling and loved spending time with family.

Surviving are: three daughters, Mary Jane Kemp, Salamanca, NY, Julie DiMaria, Palm City, FL, Betty Lou Prebis, Salamanca, NY; five grandchildren, John Kemp, Limestone, NY, Nicole Wright, Randolph, NY, Elisa Chioffi, Amy Henrichs, both of Palm City, FL, Todd Riegelman, East Aurora, NY; nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Toni Jean Riegelman, and her stepmother Theresa Matecki Rupple Boza.

There will be no visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Our Lady of Peace Parish on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Peter Napierkowski, pastor, as celebrant.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Salamanca Historical Society, Our Lady of Peace Parish, or the donor’s choice.
