Jack L. Feichter

Jack Lavern Feichter, 80, of Salamanca, NY died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Olean General Hospital following a short illness.

Born August 8, 1937 in Little Valley, NY, he was the son of the late Vern Feichter and Maxine Waite Meacham. He is survived by his soulmate of forty eight years, Marlene Mohr Winship of Salamanca.

He had been employed at the former Fancher Furniture Co. and Taylor Jamestown before becoming a partner at E.B. Mohr’s Disposal Service in Salamanca, where he worked for twenty years prior to his retirement in 1990.

He was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Club, Holy Cross Athletic Club, and the Allegany American Legion. He liked to cook, mechanic work, old cars and tractors, and loved to hunt and fish.

Surviving besides his companion are: three children, Brian Winship, Randolph, NY, Bruce Winship, Tina (James) Irwin, both of Salamanca, NY; four grandchildren, Darin (Lisa) Winship, Jon Winship, Kevin (Jackie) Winship, Mindy (Tim) Winship; five great-grandchildren, Troy, Tommy, Jillian, Maverick, Brooklyn; a brother, Bill (Debbie) Chamberlain, Dayton TN; four sisters, Bonnie Gendrue, Della (Mike) Kelly, both of Salamanca, NY, Martha (Dale) Hunter, CA, Marie (Larry) Eastman, Dayton TN; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Florence Meacham.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, NY on Thursday, July 26 2018 from 5-8pm.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11am with Rev. Michael Trenchard of the United Congregational Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.
