James A. Quinn
James A. Quinn, 70, of Great Valley, NY died Wednesday evening, September 1, 2021 at home following a short illness.
Born March 18, 1951 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late James W. and Wilma Goodwill Quinn. He was married on November 29, 1969 to the former Donna Lafferty, who survives.
He had been employed as a youth aide with the New York State Division of Youth for over 20 years, working in Great Valley and Limestone, NY, retiring in 2008. He had previously been employed with the former York Merit Products Inc., Ellicottville, NY.
Mr. Quinn was a member of the Great Valley Fire Company and had served as past president. He was the Great Valley Fire Commissioner. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved all sports and attended his children and grandchildren’s events faithfully. He was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
Surviving besides his wife are: four sons, James (Paula) Quinn, Newberry, FL, Todd (Sally) Quinn, Jason Quinn, David Quinn, all of Great Valley, NY; sixteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Mary) Quinn, Thomas (Debbie) Snyder, both of Great Valley, NY; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Esther M. Berardi.
Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River St, Salamanca, NY on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 11 – 2pm at which time funeral services will be held.
