James E. Vroman
James E. Vroman, 72, of Great Valley, NY died Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Olean General Hospital following a short illness.
Born September 6, 1952 in Galveston, TX, he was the son of the late James Sr. and Marie Boucher Vroman. He was married in Scio, NY in 1982 to the former Connie Blakeslee, who survives.
He was a graduate of Scio High School, Class of 1970, later earning his Associate’s Degree from JCC in Olean, NY.
James had been employed as a machinist with Bush Industries, Little Valley, NY, for over 18 years, retiring in 2008.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be remembered for passing on many life skills. He also enjoyed music and was a percussionist in the local band, Friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and loved traveling and going on cruises with his wife.
Surviving besides his wife are: two daughters, Jennifer (Shawn) Foust, WV, April Zelinski, Jamestown, NY; two sons, Nathan (Megdalena Krahel) Vroman, Belmont, NY, Thomas, Wellsville, NY; five grandchildren; a sister, Mary Davis, Stannards, NY; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Tina Kline.
There will be no visitation.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.
