James F. Woodmancy
Mr. James F. Woodmancy, age 69, of Route 219, Great Valley, New York died Friday April 11, 2008 at the Eire County Medical Center following a long illness.
Born on January 17, 1939 in Salamanca, New York he was the son of the late Victor and Mildred Boardman Woodmancy. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving state side.
Mr. Woodmancy was married in St. Mary's Episcopal Church in 1959 to the former Eva Fuller who survives.
He was employed with Fitzpatrick and Weller as a Millwright for over 20 years retiring in 2001. He had previously worked at the former Bush Lumber Company and Farner and Parker Dairy, Salamanca, New York.
He served as the Great Valley Town Assessor an Code Enforcement Officer for the past 40 years, served as president of County Assessors Association for 8 years, and also was a member of Cattaraugus County Cooperative Extension. He took great pride and enjoyed his constituency.
He was an avid reader, he enjoyed trains as well as a good story.
Surviving besides his wife include: 2 daughters, Karen (Jerry) Roosa, Randoplh, New York, Jennifer (Tony) Addotta, Friendship, New York; 1 son, William (Penny) Woodmancy, Rt 219, Great Valley, New York; 15 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Mary Bistline and Jean Fitzpatrick.
There will be no visitation, private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the donors choice.
