Janet E. Baker
Mrs. Janet E. Baker, 86, of Kill Buck, NY died Friday evening, June 9, 2017 at her home surrounded by family and loved ones.
Born October 26, 1930 in Lackawanna, NY, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Jeanette Mosandel Calkins. She was married on April 24, 1971 in Ellicottville, NY to Clifford Baker Jr., who survives.
She had been employed at the former AVM for over 15 years, retiring in 2001. She had also been employed at Buffalo Axle in Buffalo, NY.
Mrs. Baker was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing BINGO. She loved attending family gatherings, tending her flowers, and watching the birds in her yard.
Surviving besides her husband are: three daughters, Linda Quinn, Donna (Jim) Quinn, both of Great Valley, NY, Rosanna Lelonek, Kill Buck, NY; five sons, Earl (the late Julie) Lafferty, Robert Lafferty, both of Great Valley, NY, Daniel (Diane) Lafferty, Salamanca, NY, Dale Lafferty, Hinsdale, NY, Clifford E. Baker III, Olean, NY; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Katherine Bridenbaker, Salamanca, NY; a brother, Arnold (Judy) Calkins, Kill Buck, NY; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley Lafferty, a sister, Alberta Barton, and a brother, Wally Calkins.
Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Dan Buringrud, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, officiating.
