Janet E. Skiver

Janet E. Skiver, 81, of Kill Buck, NY, died Friday afternoon, October 11, 2024 at Olean General Hospital following a short illness.

Born November 28, 1942 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Merton and Anna Anderson Stevens. She was married in Maryland on July 9. 1959 to James H. Skiver, who survives.

She attended Franklinville High School.

Janet had been a homemaker and sold Avon products for over 35 years.

She was an avid birdwatcher and was very fond of cardinals, collecting many likenesses of the bird.

Surviving besides her husband are: two sons, Jeffrey Skiver, Morgantown, NC, Daniel (Brenda Sauer) Skiver, Allegany, NY; several grand and great-grandchildren; a sister, Annette Stevens, Elmira, NY; a brother, David (Robin Knaier) Stevens, Franklinville, NY.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Skiver, and a son, James H. Skiver Jr.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
