Janice C. Yaworsky
Janice C. Yaworsky passed in the early hours of December 30, 2022, with her loved ones by her side at Olean General Hospital from a sudden and short illness. Janice was 81 years old, born February 17, 1941 in Wellsville, NY. She married William R. Yaworsky on December 27, 1962, who predeceased her in 1981.
Janice lived an amazing life. One dedicated to caring for others as a Registered Nurse with the NYS Division of Youth for over 20 years until retiring in 2001. Over her 40-year career in healthcare, she cared for the young and old, mothers-to-be, critical patients, and was the one comforting others in their time of need. She worked for the Salamanca District and Olean General Hospitals. In addition to hospital care, she worked for the Salamanca School District and Salamanca Nursing home.
Nothing was more important to Janice than her family. Her children and grandchildren brought a sparkle to her eye, and joy to her voice. After the death of her husband, she devoted herself to being there for her children, supporting and loving them with an unconditional love. She enjoyed shopping, watching westerns and other favorite shows, traveling to see family, and her special recharging time at the casino. As an avid reader, she took solace in losing herself in a good book at times.
Janice is survived by her two daughters, Susan (Randy) Marsh, Randolph, NY, Catherine (David) Dunn, Salamanca, NY; three sons, Brian (Jeffrey Demarest) Yaworsky, Little Valley, NY, Steven Yaworsky, Salamanca, NY, Daniel (Robert Mitchell) Yaworsky, Allegany, NY; a granddaughter, MacKenzie (Bryce Sherrard) Marsh, Olean, NY; six grandsons, William Yaworsky, Pittsburgh, PA, Derek Marsh, Randolph, NY, Kendell Valvo, Hayden Valvo, Conewango Valley, NY, David Dunn III, Salamanca, NY, Mitchell Yaworsky, Allegany, NY; a brother, Benjamin Costello; several nieces and nephews.
Her youngest child, Helen, predeceased her and was waiting to greet her today along with Janice’s husband, brother William Costello, and other loved ones passed before her. Though she will be missed greatly, we know she was welcomed with warm embrace by those she loved and lost.
