Jean A. Greer

Jean A. Greer, 99, of Salamanca, NY, died Thursday, July 4, 2024 at Salamanca Rehabilitation & Nursing Center following a long illness.

Born September 16, 1924 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Wellman and Helen Rau Gardner. She was married to Joseph Greer, who predeceased her in 2004.

She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1942.

Jean had been employed as an executive secretary with the Salamanca Central School System at Seneca School for over twenty-five years, retiring in 1987. Previously, she had been employed with the former Hunt of Salamanca.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and the Elkdale Country Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family, the outdoors, traveling, and wintering in Florida. She also enjoyed taking AARP trips.

Surviving are: two daughters, Karen (Stephen) Grabowski, Great Valley, NY, Lynn Lukaric, Salamanca, NY; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Jason Grabowski, and brother, Robert Gardner.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Burial will be in Willowdale, Cemetery, Bradford, PA.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
