Jeanne L. Deppa

Jeanne Hudgins Deppa, 67, of Salamanca, NY died Wednesday evening August 2, 2023 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She showed bravery and courage in a short yet fierce battle with cancer. Her family is so very proud of her.

Born February 1, 1956 in Malden, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Carroll and Helen Hudgins. She was married on June 24, 1978 in Pierre, South Dakota to Robert J. Deppa, who predeceased her on March 17, 2019. She missed him tremendously.

Jeanne was a graduate of Wilmington High School, Class of 1974.

She worked at various doctors offices, and up until this year with the Cattaraugus Community Action; however, she would tell you her greatest job was being a wife and a mother.

Jeanne was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. She loved taking trips with her family to Presque Isle, Indian Shores, Florida the Allegany State Park and back home to New England to see her family. She loved the ocean and nature and was up for any adventure, as long as she was with her family. She was also a loyal Boston Red Sox fan! Jeanne will be remembered for her contagious smile and laugh.

Surviving at home are her children, Tyler Deppa and Hannah Deppa both of Salamanca, NY, her adult children, Jennifer (Jared Brechbuehl) Deppa, Franklinville, NY, Jessica (Dave McCann) Rutkowski, Olean, NY, Robbie Deppa, Salamanca, NY and son-in-law Gabe Duhan, Salamanca, NY; four grandchildren, Jocelyn and Molly Duhan, and Alex and Hannah Brechbuehl; sibling, Joyce (Kenneth) Mattucci, Plaistow, NH; aunts and uncles, George (Clarice) Ross, Wilmington, MA, Jack (Jane) Hudgins, North Reading, MA; a special friend, Joan Deppa, Allegany, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Janet Desrosiers, brother-in-law, David Deppa, and beloved "Grampie" Walter Mietka.

Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke, Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Our Lady of Peace Parish.

Burial and committal services will be in Green Cemetery, Great Valley, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Peace Bereavement Committee, Home Care & Hospice, and Roswell Park Alliance Foundation - Elevate Salon Fund, who provides wigs for those undergoing cancer treatment.
