Jeanne Nary

Mrs. Jeanne M. Nary, age 74, formerly of Killbuck, New York died Monday, January 19, 2009 at The Absolut of Salamanca, New York.

Born on November 3, 1934 in Hornell, New York she was the daughter of the late Volney and Anna Lee Baldwin. She was married on December 26, 1969 to Mr. Joseph “Papa Joe” J. Nary who survives.

Mrs. Nary was employed as a Respiratory Therapist at the former St. Francis Hospital in Olean, New York. Also she had been employed at Head Start in Salamanca, New York, the former Telemark INN Ellicottville, New York, and on a Leggs Panty Hose Route.

She was the first female Volunteer Fireman; she was a former Commissioner for Salamanca Youth Activities, and an EMT at the former Salamanca District Hospital. She enjoyed crafts and spoiling her grandchildren.

Surviving are: 3 sons, Jay (Liz) Hilsdorf, San Antonio, Texas, Jeff Hilsdorf, Dansville, New York, Kenneth “Skip” (Sharon) Nary, Salamanca, New York; 1 daughter, Cindy (Larry) Hilsdorf-Meyer, Canandaigua, New York; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday (January 24, 2009) with Rev. Carl Morganstern of Little Valley Baptist Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association.
