Jeannie L. Doner

Jeannie L. Doner, 66, of Wellsville, NY, died Monday, April 17, 2023 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY following a long illness.

Born April 1, 1957 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clair L. and Jeanne A. Bixby Doner.

She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1975. She also attended Olean Business Institute, where she earned her Associate’s Degree.

Jeannie had been employed as a cashier with Stop & Co., Houston, TX for over 17 years, before returning to the Salamanca area.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her son Ellery Jarett of Allegany, NY. She had a very strong faith and had been a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. Jeannie was a former Girl Scout, who enjoyed cooking and baking, as well as crocheting, knitting, playing cards, and traveling. She enjoyed connecting with her extended family, and could always be counted on to know their updated whereabouts.

Surviving besides her son Ellery are: two brothers, Stephen (Carrie Dulanski) Doner, Todd (Carrie) Doner, both of Kill Buck, NY; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Loujene Doner and Percy Doner.

Memorial visitation will be at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from10 - 11am at which time a memorial service will be held with Rev. Michael Lonto officiating.
