Jennie Schine

Mrs. Jennie Schine, age 82, of Killbuck, New York went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the Olean General Hospital following a long illness.

Born October 31, 1932 in Salamanca, New York, she was the daughter of Themistocles and Mary Nolan Siafakas. On December 31, 1955, she married Mr. Clyde R. Schine, who predeceased her December 31, 2014.

In her early years Jennie was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling the world with her husband Ralph, who made the United States Air Force his career. Upon her husband’s retirement, they relocated back to the Killbuck area.

She was employed by Bush Industries until 1981, at which time her family opened the Pyramid Drive Inn, where she worked until retirement.

Surviving are: two daughters, Debra (Ronald) Anderson Sr. and Kim (Guy) Harrison, both of Killbuck, NY; a son, Jamie (Kathy) Schine, Killbuck, NY ; four grandchildren, Dawn Anderson, Killbuck, NY, Heather Schnittger, Salamanca, NY, Joshua Harrison and Alyssa Harrison, both of Killbuck, NY; two great-grandchildren, Corey Gebauer and Kailey Schnittger, both of Salamanca, NY; a sister, Alameta Bergamon, Salamanca, NY; two brothers, Tom and Richard Siafakas, both of Killbuck, New York; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Ronald Anderson Jr. on January 26, 2000, and two brothers, T. George Siafakas and John “Jack” Siafakas.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Lonto, pastor of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Green Cemetery, Great Valley, New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
