Joan K. Urbanski
Mrs. Joan K. Urbanski, 82, formerly of Lincoln Avenue, Salamanca, NY died Tuesday evening, October 24, 2017 at the Cuba Memorial Hospital & Rehab following a long illness.
Born on December 19, 1934 in Salamanca, NY she was the daughter of the late Rodney and Oleta Nugent Clifford. She was married on May 15, 1951 to Mr. John Urbanski who predeceased her on January 21, 2010.
Mrs. Urbanski was a homemaker and worked as a Bookkeeper at Den’s Auto Body and the former J.G. Collins Distributing, both of Salamanca.
Her life revolved around her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and wonderful cook. In her younger days, she enjoyed boating and spending time with her family at Chautauqua Lake. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Surviving are: a daughter, Debra (John) Crist, Salamanca, NY; three sons, Dennis (Karen) Urbanski, Salamanca, NY, David Urbanski, Virginia, James (Tina) Urbanski, Colorado; five grandchildren, Thomas (Beth) Crist, Bemus Point, NY, Colleen (Petr) Vasicko, Charlotte, NC, Jason (Holly) Urbanski, Jordan (Amanda) Urbanski, both of Salamanca, NY, Dylan (Julianna) Urbanski, Mississippi; six great-grandchildren, Ava and Alex Crist, Isabella, Sebastian, and Roman Vasicko, Charlotte, NC, Cole Urbanski, Salamanca, NY; a sister, Mary Ellen “Minnie” Collins, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Anne L. O’Rourke and a daughter-in-law, Laurie Urbanski.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Parish with Rev. Peter Napierkowski pastor, as celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, NY.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
