John C. Jamieson

Mr. John C. Jamieson, 77, of Great Valley, NY, died Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY, following a short illness.

Born July 25, 1941 in Salamanca, he was the son of the late Richard and Bernice Newton Jamieson.

He had attended Ellicottville School and had been employed at the former Norton Lumber Mills, Great Valley, NY, for over ten years.

Mr. Jamieson was a fixture of the First Baptist Church in Great Valley, NY for many years.

He enjoyed golfing in his younger years with his father. He liked jokes and will be remembered for his laughter. He enjoyed people watching and socializing. He also enjoyed doing yardwork.

Surviving is a cousin James (Darlene) Baker, Port Allegany, PA.

Friends may call at the First Baptist Church, 5049 Route 219, Great Valley, on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 1 – 2p.m. at which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Jon Nicholson officiating.

Burial will be in Green Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be sent to the First Baptist Church of Great Valley or the donor’s choice.
