John J. Brown Jr.

John J. Brown Jr., 70, of Salamanca, NY died Sunday morning, September 10, 2023 at home following a long illness.

Born December 13, 1952 in Jamestown, NY, he was the son of the late John Sr. and Dolores Ewing Brown.

He was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1971.

John had been employed at Fitzpatrick & Weller, Ellicottville, NY and Subcon Industries in both Salamanca and Olean.

In his younger days, John enjoyed the outdoors, searching the woods for ginseng with his grandfather as well as hunting and fishing. He was a huge supporter of Salamanca Warrior Football and was a New York Mets fan. John liked listening to music, especially blues, and heavy metal. He loved watching old black and white movies.

Surviving are: two brothers, James Brown, Jerry Brown, both of Salamanca, NY; two uncles, George Brown, Salamanca, NY, Fred Payne, FL; an aunt, Marion Mealey, Bradford, PA.

He was predeceased by his infant sister, Connie Brown.

There will be no visitation.

A graveside service will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, NY on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 2pm with Rev. Wallace Mapes, Healing Reigns Fellowship, officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
