John J. Buck Sr.
John Joseph Buck Sr., 63, of Little Valley, NY passed away unexpectedly May 5, 2025.
Born on September 22nd of 1961 in Jamestown, NY. John was a devoted husband to his wife Martie Buck, a loving father to his children John Joseph Buck Jr., Joseph William Buck, Jacob Lee Buck, Miranda Lynn Buck, Megan Lynn Buck, Monica Lynn Buck, and Melissa Lynn Buck. He was also a doting grandfather to Reuben VanEvery Jr., Neveah Beras, Francisco Beras, and Elijah Beras. Aside from his immediate family, John was survived by his three sisters, a brother, and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Olive (Orla) Buck, his father, Joshua William Buck II, his daughter, Megan Lynn Buck, and his grandson, Francisco Beras Jr.
John was a member of the Cayuga Nation, representing the Deer Clan. He was well known for his art work displayed in multiple museums around the country. John loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, and creating memories with his family.
John was an extraordinary man, leader, and mentor for many. Those who had the honor of knowing him understand how great of a loss this is. We are walking in the path he has opened for us. Following directions we know he would have wanted. This is not a sad day, this is a day we honor John, we allow his light to guide us in this time but understand he’s in a better place where he can look over all of us. His journey into the sky world is nothing less than beautiful.
Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 2 – 4pm & 7 – 9pm.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11am with speakers of the Cayuga Longhouse officiating.
Burial will be in St. Hyacinth Cemetery, Dunkirk, NY.
