John Pachan

Mr. John Pachan, 87, of Route 353, Elkdale, NY died Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Absolut of Salamanca, NY.

Born on October 27, 1929 in Riceville, NY, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Podolinski Pachan. He was married on December 31, 1960 to the former Gretchen Kelly, who survives.

Mr. Pachan was a self-employed farmer.

He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Salamanca, a member of the former St. Mary’s Church, Little Valley, and the Knights of Columbus in both Salamanca and Ellicottville.

Surviving besides his wife are many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by 4 sisters, Alyce Donlin, Mary Jude Pachan, Mary Vogtli, Evelyn Huffnagle, 3 brothers, Lester Pachan, James Pachan, and Donald Pachan.

Friends may attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Parish with Rev. Peter Napierkowski, pastor, as celebrant.

Burial will be in Little Valley Rural Cemetery, Little Valley, NY.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Peace Parish, 274 Broad Street, Salamanca, NY 14779.
