John W. Foster

John Foster, 55, of Salamanca, NY died suddenly Friday afternoon, March 8, 2024 at Buffalo General Hospital.

Born October 19, 1968 in Wichita Falls, TX, he was the son of Bonny (Roger) Dingler, CA and the late John Foster.

John had been employed as an equipment operator with the Salamanca Lumber Company for over twenty-eight years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, and being with his life partner the late Judy Stechenfinger, who predeceased him in 2018.

Surviving are: a daughter, Catherine (Davis) Colin, Salamanca, NY; two brothers, Robert Stechenfinger Jr., Joseph Stechenfinger, both of Salamanca, NY; two granddaughters, Hannah Stechenfinger, Brittany Colin, both of Salamanca, NY; five grandsons, Patrick Campbell, Michael Colin, Damien Campbell, Levi Stechenfinger, Connor Vizenor, all of Salamanca, NY; two sisters, Sherry (Jason) Smith, TX, Bonny (Donald) Lester, OK; a brother, Thor Foster, TX; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Jadlowski.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
