John White

John White, 53, of Salamanca, NY died Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at home following a long illness.

Born April 28, 1968 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Stella White and John Kircher as well as his late step-father, Claude Sanford.

He attended Ellicottville High School and had been a self-employed tow truck operator running the former John’s Towing, Allegany, NY.

John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he loved the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed listening to country music or his TV shows, especially westerns. When he was younger, he enjoyed welding and metal fabrication.

Surviving are: two sisters, Charlotte (Doug) Hilliman, Salamanca, NY, Valerie White, Salamanca, NY; two brothers, Larry (Sherlynn) White, Leesville, LA, Kenneth (Chris Wendt) White, Buffalo, NY; best friend, Bill (Shannon) Smith, Salamanca, NY; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be no visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to the Allegany County Association for the Blind, 26 Jefferson, Wellsville, NY 14895.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
