John Zeth
Mr. John C. Zeth, 70, of Academy Street, Salamanca, New York died Wednesday evening, August 10, 2016 at the Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York, following a long illness.
Born February 24, 1946 in Blair County, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Elvin and Grace Noel Zeth. He was married on May 1, 2016 in Olean, NY to the former Rose Skinner Zeth, who survives.
Mr. Zeth had been employed as a machinist with Carborundum in Jamestown, New York, McHone Industries and Stride Tool, both in Salamanca, New York.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife are: two daughters, Lesia (Ronald) Pratt, Randolph, NY, Laurie (Ryan McKay) Hardin, Randolph, NY; two sons, David Zeth, KY, John C. (Tammy) Zeth Jr., Randolph, NY; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Shirley Zentz, Mayville, NY, Theresa Walker, PA, Mary Milks, Randolph, NY, Tricia Stoll, Randolph, NY; two brothers, Joe (Theresa) Zeth, Dan (Sandy) Zeth, both of AL; two stepdaughters, Nina Skinner, Salamanca, and Leslie (Jason) Chapel, Salamanca; 3 step-grandchildren, Sarah and Zeth Chapel, and Marie Covert; several nieces and nephews; and a good friend, Robert Brown.
He was predeceased by a son, Thomas A. Zeth.
There will be no visitation.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday (Aug. 15, 2016) at 10:00 am at the Steamburg Fire Company, Steamburg, NY.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
