Jonathan C. Tallchief

Jonathan C. Tallchief, 47, of Jimersontown, NY died Friday afternoon, November 24, 2017 at his home following a long illness.

Born July 2, 1970 in Dunkirk, NY, he was the son of Beverly A. Jones and the late Frank C. Tallchief.

Mr. Tallchief was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Deer Clan.

He was a graduate of Salamanca High School Class of 1989.

He had been employed with the Seneca Nation of Indians working maintenance at the ACC Building.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his son Hunter. He also enjoyed the outdoors and fishing, in addition to painting and drawing, and he was known for his story telling.

Surviving are: a son, Hunter Tallchief, Salamanca, NY, a longtime companion, Michelle Bowen, Salamanca, NY; three sisters, Sheila (Allan) Kettle, Patricia (Jonathan) Brisley, and Shana Maybee all of Salamanca, NY; a brother, Kenny Tallchief, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Shelly Lichy, and a brother, Victor E. Tallchief.

Friends may call at the family home at 8152 Old Route 17 on Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the family home.

Burial will be in Memorial Heights Cemetery
