Joseph A. Passmore

Joseph A. Passmore, 82, of Salamanca, NY died Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, NY following a short illness.

Born December 8, 1939 in Salamanca, NY, he was the son of the late Warren and Gertrude Roberts Passmore. He was married August 12, 1960 to the former Carol J. Perkins, who predeceased him in 2009.

He was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1957.

Joseph had been employed with the Cattaraugus County Department of Public Works, Little Valley, NY for over 20 years, retiring in 1995.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling with his late wife, and liked to watch old TV shows. When he was younger, he enjoyed tending his garden and doing carpentry work for members of his family.

Surviving are: two daughters, Christine (Jeffrey) Caswell, Derrick City, PA, Julie Kenyon, Salamanca, NY; two grandchildren, Brandon (Chrystal) Caswell, Shannon (Kevin) Hardy, both of Derrick City, PA; two great-grandchildren, Alex Caswell, K.C. Hardy, both of Derrick City, PA.

He was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Jordan Hardy.

There will be no visitation.

Burial will be in Steamburg Cemetery, Steamburg, NY Tueday, April 5, 2022 at 2pm.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
