Joseph Seine

Mr. Joseph A. Seine (Sienkiewicz), age 87, of Anna Maria, Florida, formerly of Red House, New York died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at his home in Florida.

Born in Salamanca, New York on May 9, 1923 he was the son of the late John and Mary Lukianiuk Sienkiewicz. He was married on December 5,1975 to the former Mary L. Kiger Seine who survives. His first wife, Jane L. Kilburn Sienkiewicz, predeceased him on June 30, 1967.

Mr. Seine was a veteran of WWII where he had served with the U.S. Army in Europe.

He retired in November 1987 from the Columbus-McKinnon Corporation of Sarasota, Florida where he had been employed as a machinist for 15 years. Previously, he had been employed at Borden in Randolph, New York for 15 years.

Surviving besides his wife are: 1 son, Mr. Harry L. (Rita) Sienkiewicz, of Red House, New York; 2 grandsons, Mr. Joseph L. (Sara) Sienkiewicz, of Haverstown, PA., , Mr. John M. (Debra) Sienkiewicz, Crafton, PA.; 3 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Josephine O’Connor, Durham, N.C., Marian Smith, Middletown, Pa., Helen Hartwig, Little Valley, New York; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Mr. Leo Sienkiewicz, Mr. Victor Seine, and Mr. John M. Sienkiewicz..

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Thursday, November 4, 2010 from 10-11 A.M. at which time a prayer service will be held in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Peace Parish at 11:30 A.M. with Rev. Joseph Janaczek, pastor of St. Patrick's Church, Randolph, New York as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.

Full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes Skiba Post #535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Patrick's Church, Randolph, New York, Our Lady of Peace Parish, Salamanca, New York or the donor's choice.
