Joyce A. Walsh

Joyce A. Walsh, 73, of East Aurora, NY died Monday, May 24, 2021 at UPMC Chautauqua following a short illness.

Born August 19, 1947 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Rita McMullen Fisher. She was married in 1988 to John F. Walsh, who predeceased her on November 19, 2015.

She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1965 and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Fredonia State University.

Joyce had been the first certified female Claims Adjustor in New York State and was employed in the industry for over 20 years.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post 5296 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 362.

She enjoyed the outdoors and golfing. She loved her pets and taking in several rescues.

Surviving are: two sisters, Barbara Van Buren, Dover, PA, Rosanne Davis, Jamestown, NY; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be held at O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 10 – 11am at which time a memorial service will be held with Deacon Michael Anderson officiating.
