Joyce M. Buchholz
Joyce M. Buchholz, 65, of 64 Central Ave, Salamanca, NY died late Friday morning, December 22, 2017 following a long illness.
Born November 1, 1952 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Reva Ray. She was married in Salamanca in 1974 to Earl V. Buchholz Jr., of Virginia Beach, VA, who survives.
She attended the Red House Indian School and was a graduate of Salamanca High School.
She was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the Bear Clan.
Mrs. Buchholz owned and operated the J&J Painting Company in Salamanca, NY and had previously been employed with the Seneca Nation of Indians, working with the Department of Buildings. Earlier, she had been employed at Alfred University in the Accounts Payable Department.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, Bingo, and working on her puzzle books. She collected ceramic pigs and used to enjoy crocheting.
Surviving besides her husband are: two sons, Jeremy (Brandy Jimerson) Buchholz and Matthew Buchholz, both of Salamanca; three granddaughters, Kree Jimerson, AK, Mattea Jimerson and Elizabeth Buchholz, both of Salamanca; a great-grandson, Zayden Jimerson, Seneca Falls, NY; a sister, Gloria Garlow, Irving, NY; a brother, Jeff Luce, Salamanca.
She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Baker.
Friends may call at the family home, 64 Central Ave, beginning Sunday afternoon, December 24th and continuing through Wednesday morning.
Funeral services will be held at the family home on Wednesday, December 27th at 9 a.m. with members of the Cold Spring Longhouse officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, NY.
