Julie K. Anderson

Julie K. Anderson, 56, of Salamanca, NY passed away peacefully at the Halterman Farm December 27, 2022. She fought a brief, but courageous battle with cancer.

Born December 9, 1966 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of Brenda D. Fuller of Salamanca and the late John E. Fuller. She was married to Robert W. Anderson, who predeceased her in November of 2013.

She was a 1985 graduate of Salamanca High School.

She was employed with the Pyramid Inn for over 20 years, where she worked as a cook. After the Pyramid closed, she worked at the Little Valley American Legion and most recently cooked breakfast for Katy’s Fly-In in Great Valley.

Julie will be remembered for many things: she was an excellent cook, was outspoken, and dearly loved animals. She loved a good competitive game of Euchre and the occasional trip to the VIP room. She was tenacious and lived life on her own terms right to the end. Her tenacity led her to discover and reconnect with her older brother, Jeff Banner, who had been placed up for adoption at birth. Her family will be forever grateful for bringing him into their lives.

For the final six months of her life, Julie stayed at the Halterman Farm, where she andher best friend Kipper wandered the land watched the wildlife and “darned” woodchucks. She worried about the barn cats and always lobbied to bring them inside.

Surviving besides her mother are: a brother, Jeff (Julie) Banner, Orange, CA; two sisters, Jodi (Bruce Dineen) Fuller, Tracy (Dana) Fuller-Meek, both of Salamanca, NY; two nieces, Abigail Meek, Alicia Meek; a great-niece, Diana; and an uncle, aunts, and many cousins. She also leaves behind her beloved Parson Russell Terrier, Kipper, who was by her side till the end.

In addition to her husband, Julie was predeceased by her father, grandparents, and her dear friend and confidant, James R. Halterman Sr.

Per Julie wishes, there will be no service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to EARS, P.O. Box 445, Salamanca, NY.
