Julie Lafferty

Julie Lafferty, 61, of Great Valley, New York died Thursday morning, September 17, 2015 at Buffalo General Hospital.

Born April 15, 1954 in Salamanca, New York, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Barbara Ambuske Newark. She was married on April 28, 1973 in the former St. Patrick’s Church to Earl Lafferty, who survives.

Julie had been employed with American Locker in Ellicottville and Highland Plastics in Salamanca.

She was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing Bingo.

Surviving besides her husband are: two sons, Troy (Kelly) Lafferty, Salamanca, NY, Brett Lafferty, Cattaraugus, NY; 6 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Clarence (Marjory) Newark; four sisters, Noreen (Emmit) Huffman, FL, Chris (William) Jacoby, Great Valley, NY, Tammi (Randy) Roberts, Lockport, NY, Toni Newark, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer Manning, a grandson, Emery Lafferty, a sister, Deborah McClure, and two brothers, Frank “Pete” Newark and Michael Newark.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Monday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Deacon Michael Anderson of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating.

Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery.
