Kari R. Gillfillan-Stevens

Kari R. Gillfillan-Stevens, 47, of Salamanca, NY passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Olean General Hospital after a short illness.

Born January 12, 1971 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, she was the daughter of Catherine McLarney Benjamin of Salamanca, NY, Thomas Gillfillan of Florida, and her stepfather Michael Benjamin, who raised her. She moved to Rockport, TX and married Danny Ray Stevens on August 8, 1997, who predeceased her on July 1, 2010.

She devoted her life to her daughter, Jennie Rae. She loved her family, her Facebook friends, video games, movies, her dogs, and Bob the squirrel. She was known for her wry sense of humor and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving besides her parents are: a daughter, Jennie Rae Stevens, Salamanca, NY; a brother, Christopher (Kelli Taylor) Gillfillan, Salamanca, NY; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends may attend a memorial visitation at the Valley View Baptist Church (the corner of Routes 353 and 242, Little Valley) on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., at which time a memorial service will be held with Rev. Ken Doyle officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
