Katherine Bridenbaker

Mrs. Katherine J. Bridenbaker, 80, Rt. 242 of Little Valley, NY died Monday evening, December 17, 2018 at Salamanca Nursing & Rehab, following a long illness.

Born November 30, 1938 in Hamburg, NY, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Jeanette Mosandel Calkins.

She had been employed at the former Bush Industries in Little Valley, NY for over twenty years. She had previously worked at Fitzpatrick & Weller, Ellicottville, NY, and upon her retirement, she was a Green Thumbs volunteer at Allegany State Park.

Mrs. Bridenbaker enjoyed the outdoors and her garden, and she also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and puzzles.

Surviving are: two daughters, Mary (Lawrence) Schultz, Great Valley, NY, Ann (Steven) Kruse, West Valley, NY; a son, David Gebauer, Little Valley, NY; a brother, Arnold Calkins, Kill Buck, NY; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Charles Gebauer, a brother, Wallace Calkins, and two sisters, Janet Baker, and Alberta Barton.

Memorial visitation will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY at 4-5pm, at which time a memorial s ervice will be held with Rev. Michael Lonto, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, officiating.
