Kathleen Jones

Kathleen A. Boland Jones, age 74, of Salamanca, New York died Thursday, May 14, 2015 at her home following a long illness.

Born on July 8, 1940 in Salamanca, New York she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Alice Edmunds Boland. She was married on November 18, 1967 to Mr. Richard Jones who predeceased her on October 6, 2002.

Mrs. Jones was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving as a Medic from 1961-64.

She was employed as a Teacher’s Aide for the Salamanca Central School System prior to her retirement. Previously, she had been employed as a receptionist at the former Salamanca District Hospital.

She was a member of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 Ladies Auxiliary, the United Congregational Methodist Church and it’s Bible Study Group, the former Lady Elks Lodge #1025, and she was a volunteer for Children’s Hospital Telethon for many years.

Surviving are: 2 daughters, Bethany (Robert) Hensel, Lisa (David) James, both of Salamanca, New York; a son, Richard (Lindsay Craumer) Jones, Salamanca, New York; 9 grandchildren, Sean (Brittany) Hensel, Shelby Hensel, Courtney James, Matthew James, all of Salamanca, New York, Trevor Jones, Holland, New York, Alexis Craumer, KayLee Craumer, Jacob Craumer, Dakota Craumer, all of Salamanca, New York; a great-grandson, Jordan Hensel, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 2 brothers, William Boland, Fred Boland.

Friends may call on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.

Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 10 a.m. in the United Congregational Methodist Church with Pastor Raymond Gilman, officiating.

Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.

The family suggests memorials to Homecare & Hospice, 1225 West State Street, Olean, New York or Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

Full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296.
