Kirk D. Rowland Jr.

Mr. Kirk Rowland Jr. of Humphrey, New York died Saturday (October 31, 2015) at the Bradford Regional Medical Center, Bradford, PA, following a long illness.

Born July 29, 1989 in Olean, New York, he was the son of Kirk Rowland Sr., Humphrey, New York and Kimberly Mitchell Rowland, Ellicottville, New York, who survive.

He was a graduate of Ellicottville High School Class of 2007. He was also a graduate of Ohio Technical College in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received an Associate’s Degree in Diesel Mechanics.

Kirk had been employed at Portville Truck and Auto in Portville, New York. Previously, he had been employed at Day’s Auto in Great Valley, New York.

He played semi-pro football for the Southern Tier Diesel Football Team.

Surviving besides his parents are: his fiancée, Katie Caldwell, Bradford, PA; two brothers, Joshua Rowland, Jacob Rowland, both of Humphrey, NY; maternal grandfather, Randal Loar, LaPlata, NM; maternal grandmother, Sandra Mitchell, Humphrey, NY; paternal grandparents, Donald & Norma Hutchison Rowland, Humphrey, NY; his 3 dogs, Cutter, Caligo, and Apollo.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the pavilion at Memorial Park in Ellicottville, New York.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
