LaVerne Jimerson

Mr. LaVerne Jimerson, age 83, of Salamanca, New York died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York.

Born May 7, 1931 in Coldspring, New York, he was the son of the late Geneva Jones. He was married on May 11, 1995 to the former Loretta Miller Williams, who predeceased him on July 12, 2012.

He was an enrolled member of the Onondaga Nation of Indians.

Mr. Jimerson was employed as a Groundskeeper at Wildwood Cemetery in Salamanca.

Surviving are: 3 daughters, Marie Jimerson, Olean, NY, Lisa (Fred Mix) Williams, Salamanca, NY, Melodey (David) Williams, Bath, NY; 4 sons, Harry Jimerson, Olean, NY, Kenny Jimerson, Watkins Glen, NY, Donald Jimerson, Salamanca, NY, Joseph (Angela) Williams, Elmira, NY; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Alex Jimerson and a sister, Gladys Jimerson.

Friends may call at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 12 to 1 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Michael Lonto, pastor of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
