Landon "Lando" R. Sequoyah
Landon “Lando” R. Sequoyah, 23, of Salamanca, New York died unexpectedly Monday morning, May 18, 2015 shortly after being admitted to the Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York.
Born June 19, 1991 in Jamestown, New York, he was the son of Susan Ledsome Sequoyah of Salamanca, who survives and the late Henry Sequoyah.
He had been employed with the Forestry Program of the Seneca Nation of Indians and worked for his uncle as a cook at Rossi’s Concessions.
Landon was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians, the Heron Clan, and the Coldspring Longhouse. He enjoyed softball and fishing.
Surviving besides his mother are: two brothers, Mark Finch and Luis (Jennifer) Castellano, both of Salamanca; several other brothers and sisters; a niece and a nephew; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandmother, Thelma Shane, an uncle, Gordon Oldshield, and an aunt, Cheryl Ray.
Friends may call at the Coldspring Longhouse on Tuesday after 4 p.m. and all day Wednesday.
Longhouse services will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York.
Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, New York.
