Laura E. Rodgers
Laura E. Rodgers, 83, formerly of Steamburg and Randolph Manor, died Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing, Jamestown, New York following a long illness.
Born August 15, 1932 in Salamanca, New York, she was the daughter of the late William and Zelda McStraw Schreckengost. Her loving companion, Rutherford “Russ” Rodgers, predeceased her on November 18, 2009.
She had been employed as a clerk at JJ Newberry’s, Harvey & Carey Drugstore, Sheble & Wood Woolen Mills, Fancher Furniture Company, and Ethan Allen. She retired in 2002 after 19 ½ years at Seneca Bingo.
Surviving are: several nieces and nephews, including Patricia (Mark) Bryant, Little Valley, NY and Penny (Bruce) Johnson, Ellington, NY, both of whom she resided with in her later years.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Edna Sage and Mary Waite, two brothers, Richard Schreckengost and William LeRoy Schreckengost.
In honoring Laura’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.
Friends are invited to attend a luncheon in the downstairs hall of the Holy Cross Club on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 1 – 4 p.m.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
