Leigh R. Fisher

Leigh R. Fisher, 22, of Salamanca, NY died unexpectedly Friday, July 8, 2022 in Coldspring, NY.

Born April 21, 2000 in Jacksonville, NC, she was the daughter of Kristine M. Dowdy, Steamburg, NY and the late Robert Fisher.

She was an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and of the Turtle Clan.

She attended High School and received her GED.

Leigh had been employed in sales with Stone Giant Dispensary, Steamburg, NY, and had previously been employed at McDonald’s and Seneca One Stop in Salamanca.

She enjoyed her family, especially her daughter, as well as watching her nephews play lacrosse. She also enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and four wheeling. She was an avid volleyball player.

Surviving besides her mother are: a daughter, Maliyah Redeye; her companion, Billybear Redeye, Salamanca, NY; two sisters, Leah Thomas, Salamanca, NY, Bobbi Jo Fisher, OH; five brothers, Michael Fisher, Christopher Fisher, both of OH, Robert Fisher Jr., MI, Tylin Thomas, Salamanca, NY, Gary Thomas Jr., Kill Buck, NY; maternal grandmother, Marlene Dowdy, Steamburg, NY; paternal grandparents, Frank and Alma Woodworth Fisher, Salamanca, NY; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Dar Dowdy.

Friends may call at the Coldspring Longhouse, Steamburg, NY beginning Monday afternoon, July 11, 2022 and continuing all day Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held at Longhouse on Wednesday at 10am with members of Coldspring Longhouse officiating.

Burial will be in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Steamburg, NY.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY.
