Leitha Sargent
Leitha Sargent, age 82, of North Union Street, Olean, New York died early Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, New York following a long illness.
Born on October 2, 1929 in Salamanca, New York she was the daughter of the late James and Maude Nobles Fuller. She was married in June 1969 to Mr. Ruddy Sargent who survives.
Mrs. Sargent was employed at TOPS Supermarket in Olean where she worked as a Greeter and Sample Hostess. She also broadcasted a TV Show through BOCES in Olean, New York covering current eventsand known as the TV Lady.
She was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church and sang in their choir. She enjoyed watching baseball and was an avid New York Yankee fan.
Surviving besides her husband are: 1 son, Troy Sargent, Ohio; 3 sisters, Lois (Dan) Steinbroner, Olean, New York, Lona Leiplein, Moore S.C., Eva Woodmancy, Great Valley, New York; 2 brothers, James "Tony" (Florence) Fuller, Douglas (Vivian) Fuller, both of Killbuck, New York; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 5 sisters, Dora Campbell, Norma Mange, June Fuller, Betty Jean Claybach, Joyce Halterman, 5 brothers, Robert Fuller, Charles Fuller, Frederick Fuller, John Fuller, and Taylor Fuller.
Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, New York on Tuesday from 5-7 P.M.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 A.M. with Rev. Patrick Melfi, pastor of Our Lady Peace Parish, officiating.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca, New York.
