Lisa Z. Rettberg

Lisa Z. Rettberg, age 60, of Salamanca, NY, died Sunday May 3, 2026 at her home surrounded by family following a short illness.

Born July 15, 1965 in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine Thomas Piscitelli. She was married December 1, 1984 in the former Kissinger United Methodist Church to Thomas Rettberg, who survives.

She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, class of 1983.

Lisa had been employed with Prospect Elementary School for the last two years, and prior, had owned and operated Tony’s Tastee Freeze in Salamanca for over 17 years.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo, and watching her television shows, especially Law & Order. She will be remembered for traveling with her husband to find a good steak dinner. She enjoyed working with children at school.

Surviving besides her husband are: two daughters, Ashley Rettberg, Salamanca, NY, Valerie (Jordan) Smith, Buffalo, NY; one son, Dominik Rettberg, Salamanca, NY; one sister, Sarah (Sean) Welch, Kelso, WA; two brothers, Michael Piscitelli and Matthew Piscitelli, both of Salamanca, NY. and her mother-in-law Ellen L. DeHart Rettberg, Salamanca, NY; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held at the O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home on Friday, May 15th from 10am to 12pm , at which time funeral services will be held with Deacon Michael Anderson officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of O’Rourke & O’Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, NY.
